Privacy Policy

Effective Date: January 1, 2026 · WATTSHIP

Overview

This policy describes what data WATTSHIP collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. WATTSHIP collects the data needed to operate the platform and improve its services. As the platform grows, the data we process may expand; we update this policy and its effective date when that happens.

Data we collect

  • Account data — our authentication provider stores your email and login credentials to identify you and manage your subscription tier.
  • Usage data — anonymized analytics about how the platform is used (pages viewed, tools run, country-level location), plus standard server logs.
  • Transaction and deal data — records of marketplace activity, deal-room communications, and tool outputs, to operate the service and support you.
  • Content you submit — listings, messages, uploaded documents, and other content you provide.

How we use your data

  • To operate, maintain, and improve the platform and its tools.
  • To process subscriptions and marketplace transactions.
  • To provide support and respond to enquiries.
  • To produce aggregated, anonymized market and trade intelligence. WATTSHIP analyzes platform activity and publicly available commercial trade data (such as shipping and customs records) to generate aggregated insights, market trends, and trade analytics. These are derived from aggregated or anonymized data and public records, and are a core part of the platform's services.
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and technical issues.

Advertising and affiliate links

The Free tier may be funded by third-party advertising and affiliate links. When advertising is active, ad networks may use cookies and similar technologies under their own privacy policies and your consent where required. Affiliate links may earn WATTSHIP a referral fee. Paid-tier subscribers see no advertising.

Cookies and consent

WATTSHIP uses cookies and similar technologies for authentication, preferences, analytics, and — when active — advertising. Where required by law, we obtain consent for non-essential cookies through a consent management tool.

Third-party services

We rely on third-party providers for authentication, payments, hosting, email, error monitoring, and (when active) advertising and analytics. They process data on our behalf under their own terms.

Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact privacy@wattship.xyz. We respond within a reasonable timeframe consistent with applicable law.

Data retention

We retain data as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Aggregated and anonymized data may be retained indefinitely.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Material changes are reflected in the effective date above.
